I think I’m done

Unless something remarkable happens, I think I’m done blogging about the bus strike. Day after day, it’s more of the same old same old. Day 40 is much the same as Day 10. It’s a little depressing.

Instead, I’ve added RSS feeds for Google news and blog searches for Ottawa + bus + strike + OC Transpo to the right sidebar.

  1. I don’t blame you. It’s hopeless, isn’t it? I guess anyone who’s managed to cope without buses this long will be okay forever. We’ll have to be.

  2. I think that’s what’s getting to me now, the seeming hopelessness of it. The article today in the Hill Times is disturbing. I personally had no background information about strikes in other cities (probably could have found it but didn’t bother) and it’s interesting to learn that Ottawa buses are under federal jurisdiction, rather than municipal or provincial.

Isn’t it nice to know that a 41-day transit strike in the nation’s capital isn’t a big deal? So what if some businesses go bankrupt. Who cares if people lose their jobs or have to spend all of their spare hours and energy walking through snow drifts to get to and from everywhere they have to go. Suck it up and soldier on.

XUP, I hate to say it, but you’ve got me agreeing with you and thinking of Ottawa less and less as a permanent home. 😉
